It takes a village
The last Sunday of December was a long day gathering, loading, unloading and examining 34 dogs. Crystal with Rescue Without Borders came and took 5 dogs & 1 puppy to help lighten the load. We are having a hard time getting help with the rest due to the dogs being unsocialized and fear biters. On Monday, we received a call that there were 3 more dogs they needed to surrender. It will be awhile before any of these dogs are ready to be adopted. Half of them have skin conditions that require several medicated baths a week along with medication. Dealing with skin issues is a slow recovery process. If you would like to help with the process of getting this large group healthy & rehabilitated, you can send a donation to our PayPal: happydayhumanesociety@gmail.com.
If you see a dog that catches your eye & you would like to personally send something to them, our mailing address is:
Happy Day Humane Society
PO BOX 20009
Big Spring, TX 79721
Just include a note with your gift of who you want it to go to & we will give it to them & post pictures for you to see!
What your donations will help us purchase:
Vaccinations, DeWormer, HeartGard, Nexgard, medicated shampoo, antibiotics, skin scrapings by the Vet to determine skin issue along with blood work.
Fun things you could send: Nylabones or any teething toys for the puppies; Toys, treats (no rawhide please) or anything you feel they would enjoy.

Partee Pavilion
A big thank you to Stan and Sue Partee for providing the Partee Pavilion. It will keep our dogs cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Thank you for all that you do to help the dogs and cats of Howard County.
We can’t begin to tell you how much our team is learning and how hard everyone is working. If we can give these dogs a foundation for good behavior and manners we can adopt out loving and confident dogs. Sunday’s are our fun days! This will one day in the near future be available to the public so check back here often. Thank you Paula and Ace for another amazing and productive training day! Thank you so much Paula Chavez!
These young entrepreneurs had a lemonade stand and used to proceeds to buy all sorts of blankets and goodies for the dogs at Happy Day!
